WORD TAXI is a boutique Word Shoppe

My writing and design services are definitely not your average mainstream. My skills and services are highly creative, Christ-centered, contemporary, competitive, cool, original, intelligent and imaginative.

I have the necessary technical background and wildly varied experiences to be an excellent and versatile wordsmith. Over the course of my career, I have written for multiple industries and genre including employee manuals and annual reports for small to mid-size corporations, promotional materials for fund-raisers and marketing events and various briefs and instruction manuals for companies ranging from IBM, Baxter Pharmaceuticals to Lockheed-Marietta. I have written Bible studies and press releases. I am a published author in both print and electronic media. And of course, like all "serious" writers, I have several novels and books “in the works.” These books are my retirement fund, so give me another year or two before they hit the bookstores.

A polished public speaker myself, I am adept at transposing sermons, speeches and oral presentations into e-books, books, workbooks or other documents. By the same token, my practical experience and understanding of the spoken word provides me the ability to create or develop a verbal speech or sermon for you that is easy to read and comfortably follows your natural speech rhythms.

In addition to ghostwriting, biographies and commissioned articles and copy-editing, I offer grant-writing and financial development services in the fields of church/ministry development, green-energy, eco-tourism, youth, equine, small to mid-size community, environment and social benevolence community initiatives; rural development; and business R&D - both non-profit and for-profit ventures. Social sector expertise includes non-profit and small ministry design & promotion

Services range from development of the vision/purpose statement or executive summary and research to preparation of business plans, creation of support documents and presentations to submitting the package to a funder.

I have decades of hands-on practice as a small business owner and entrepreneur, along with partnerships with the Micro-enterprise Program, Workforce Enhancement and Development programs, SBA and the Virginia Employment Commission. This background enables me to offer a range of seasoned services to small businesses from business plan development to on-going management and bookkeeping activities.

I know my way local, federal and state offerings and endowments and private foundations and should alternatives emerge, I am comfortable with SBA, SBIR, Angel Investor Networks (ACE) and the requirements for finding Venture Capital. Typical grants  range from feasibility study, challenge and implementation to start-up, operating, expansion and in-kind. I own access to several databases and am familiar with less accessible, but generous funders.

In addition to more than three decades as a professional Wordsmith and poet, I am a missionary and lay-counselor. I work for a local InterFaith Council and recently finished an assignment to develop a faith-based crisis intervention organization.

My religious background is deep and well-grounded and I am literate in several denominations, church traditions and Scripture translations from traditional to contemporary.

Please contact me to discuss your wants and needs. The initial consultation is free and my professional fees are reasonable.

I am selective about the assignments I accept and provide dedicated personal service - no fluff, no bioler-plate, no templets and no stale stock articles. I am good at what I do.  I have seasoned talent and technique. You should hire me!
